The
China Shepherdess
A Laura
Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society Exclusive
The China Shepherdess was Ma's most precious
possessions. Wherever the Ingalls family traveled the Shepherdess was
tucked away safely. Ma never thought it felt like home 'til the little
china woman was at home on the shelf.
For this reason, we have taken our time to be sure
that this is the best that it can possibly be. A quote from the book Little
House in the Big Woods, on page 62,
"The little china woman had a
bonnet on her head. China curls hung against her neck. Her dress was
laced in front. She wore a pink apron and little gilt shoes."
We have done our very best to duplicate Laura's
description of the China Shepherdess. The figurine stands 6-1/2 inches
tall with a bonnet on her head, dress laced up in front, pink apron,
and gilt shoes.
