The Experience of the Frontier Woman

A Special Event: July 22 & 23, 2005

A New Exhibit!

This temporary exhibit will showcase new artifacts added to our collection that have never before been seen by the public.

Speakers

Ursula Smith & Linda Peavy - As historical consultants for the PBS mini-series "Frontier House" Peavy and Smith saw first hand how modern women dealt with the conditions frontier women faced. Come and hear their presentation on the hardships faced by pioneer women.

William Anderson is a well known Laura Ingalls Wilder historian.

Lois Beckner will give her presentation titled "The Shaping of the American Woman."

Old Time Fiddle Music
Saturday only by "Nelson Fiddler." Hear Bill Peterson play Pa's favorite tunes.

Historic Homes

Don't forget to allow time to tour our historic homes! Original artifacts fill the Surveyors' House from "By the Shores of Silver Lake" and the Ingalls Home that Pa built. Please allow 2 hours for tours.
